Clarence Drummond

Until his retirement in September 2015, the Rev. Dr. Clarence Drummond was the long-time pastor of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Suches, Georgia. He was an active Baptist minister for more than 50 years and pastored churches in Kentucky and Pennsylvania as well as in his native state of Georgia.
He is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon, and holds two advanced degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louis-ville, Kentucky, including a Doctor of Divinity degree.
In addition to writing many poems over the years on a variety of topics, Clarence has also written a number of articles and essays for professional journals, as well as thou-sands of unpublished sermons. He is a for-mer editor of The Christian Index, America's oldest religious journal.
Clarence and his wife Faye, a retired school teacher and talented artist, have four children and nine grandchildren. They live in Cumming, Georgia, but make frequent visits to their home town of Thomaston, where Clarence enjoys fishing in the nearby Flint River.
